About a month ago, my family drove 800 miles away from Illinois and dropped me off in North Carolina to embark on my new adventure: college! The past month has been the longest month ever, but packed full of excitement. Even though it has only been a short while, I feel like I have learned so much within this time.
Amongst the craziness, I have felt God’s presence more than ever. Due to moving away from home, it has solidified for me that God is the same no matter where you are. His love travels wherever you go. I have always been a person who is not very big on change, so I even shocked myself when I chose to go to a completely new part of the country. God has a funny sense of humor like that. God’s love is the same whether I am in Illinois or North Carolina or even a completely different country. Through going somewhere else, I have gotten the opportunity to experience his love in new ways like never before.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Another thing that has remained a constant in my life is my clothes. It has been a joy to still have the comfort of my closet (although it has physically gotten smaller because of dorm life). I have also enjoyed the weather being much warmer than Illinois, so I have been able to drag out my summer wardrobe a bit longer. In this post I am in my favorite dress of the summer. It is so easy and simple which is why it was on constant repeat. Also, it has pockets! How can you not love a dress with pockets? It is currently on sale at J.Crew Factory, so I would snag it before it’s gone! Embroidered Dress
A new aspect of life is the wonderful new people I have met. I do miss my friends and family from home very much, but God has blessed me by introducing me to some pretty cool new friends. The ladies in these pictures have shown me what it looks like to be a strong young woman in Christ. They have loved me simply because I am a sister in Christ and I couldn’t be more thankful.
